“I want to be a teacher and I want to be encouraging other people.”

Meet Joyce, one of the highly skilled, talented team at Alive and Kicking Kenya who made your new ball! 

Before Joyce joined the team at Alive and Kicking she had found it difficult to find a fairly paid, secure job due to a physical disability. 

“It is not easy to deal with other companies with a disability,” Joyce told us, “but I thank God for this company because they accommodate us.”

Having a stable job is important for Joyce because she is in the process of training as a teacher at African Nazarene University. 

 

When asked about her hopes for the future, Joyce said: 

“I want to be a teacher and I want to be encouraging other people.  At Alive and Kicking we are taught about creating awareness, so I want to somehow create awareness for people with disabilities.”
