Tackling poverty through rugby

The Tag Rugby Trust aims to encourage the development of grassroots rugby in some of the poorest regions of the world. They use the game of tag rugby as a vehicle to improve the lives of the children that they coach. Recently, they took some Alive & Kicking rugby balls on one of their tours of Zambia:

With the Rugby World Cup taking place later this year, this is the perfect time to get young people across Africa involved in the game and taking advantage of the benefits of competitive sport. As part of our drive to improve access to sporting equipment among disadvantaged young people across Africa, we have also recently donated balls to Entebbe Sharks, a girls’ rugby initiative in Uganda, as well as the Uganda Ladies Rugby team.
