Fake Cash Collecting for Alive and Kicking + Tackle Africa in London

23rd September 2016

It has come to our attention that some groups of young people have been approaching members of the public for cash donations in Alive and Kicking’s name (as well as our partners’, Tackle
Africa) on London streets and doorsteps.  These people do not represent Alive and Kicking or TackleAfrica in any way, and any money they obtain is fraudulently taken and does not come to us.

Alive and Kicking and TackleAfrica never advise or condone public, street or doorstep cash-collecting from fundraisers taking part in any event associated with the charities. We do not sponsor football teams or collect money for football teams from the general public. Anyone doing this using our collective names is acting fraudulently and committing a criminal offence.

If you are approached in this way and asked for money for  Alive and Kicking or TackleAfrica, please report the activity through the Action Fraud website: http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ or helpline 0300 123 2040, inform your local police or community support officer, or call the police non-emergency number 101.

If you have concerns and would like to contact us, or would like more information, please email us at info@aliveandkicking.org

If you would like to make a one-off or regular donation to Alive and Kicking directly, please visit http://aliveandkicking.org/donate/
